The Free Bird Reminded Me
I wonder how you're doing my old friend
You young creature whose swiftness I can't contend
I recall those talks, living wild but not free
Predators lurked, but you'd still chirp back to me
I'd see you often, as we maneuvered
and slogged through life, like an odd herd
A young man, a young bird, with a friendship
I look back now and recall our great fit
The slightest of joy you brought kept me high...
But enough of you, I should pay homage to another guy
He also flies high
In the sky
But thank you for reminding me
R.I.P.
